Hi, I was given a team pony harness that is 40 years old and needs major cleaning, it wasstored in avery damp place & I have now had it in a simi dry place. What would be the best way to clean it. Someone mentioned that I should first soak in in used motor oil? My husband thought that was drastic. Any help would be great

Arn't we supposed to use PatiBue? Is that how it is spelt? I bought a litre of it and socked new bridle, crupper and some harness over night in a shallow wide bowl.
In the morning the dogs had eaten the lot! Of course Patobue is Bulls fat! DUHHHH! But that is what your supposed to soak them in! I still use it when I can find a tack shop. There are also some great leather cleaning sprays which also have oils in them. I use and English brand I found in a shop in Malaga (Now gone bust!). The Spanish use Olive Oil ! Good Luck! Albert
