hi my names Jo and i live in the Aveyron South of France - i have been given a governess cart which was in pieces and my husband has put back together - he hopes in the right order ... we have a pony who we think could pull it but have never done any driving before so any handy hints and photos of governess carts would be great also new to this posting on a forum business so not quite sure how it all works .... also how do you know if your horse is the right size for your cart ; we need some adult supervision any suggestions welcome

Hi! there Jo, I think we need Albert in here to help! If you have never driven before it is important for you to get as much hands on experience with as many horses as you can before you drive your pony. Even a local harness racing place could help you out. In the mean time lots of long reining your pony everywhere! |

Hi Jo!
Welcome to the forum!
I think you need a good introduction and help from an experienced driver who takes you by the hand and shows you the basics.
Another thought is the safety of your cart: I would let have somebody who knows all about driving have a look on it first before putting it to your pony. There are so many things that need to fit.
